Statement of Purpose

MICA, Inc. (Micro-Credit in Africa) is a nonprofit organization seeking to alleviate poverty in Africa by empowering women.

The organization has a three-fold objective:

1. Improving the socioeconomic position of women by helping them gain economic autonomy through the micro-credit system.
2. Using economic power to improve health, nutrition, and education.
3. Supporting cultural exchange among African women from all over the world.

The MICA system of economic empowerment will be replicated throughout Africa in collaboration with other NGO's in the field. Recognizing education as the fundamental tool of economic empowerment, emphasis will be placed on developing projects that focus on education.
